I’m Goldie, a forty-something software developer living in Australia.

I started blogging late in 2006. After reading a number of blogs about blogging, I discovered that one of the common tips for new bloggers is to blog about something that they are passionate about. I thought for a time and decided I was passionate about online games like World of Warcraft. So I created a blog about my adventures in the various virtual worlds.

Sixteen months later, and many ups and downs in the meanwhile, I decided to start another blog. In fact, I decided to see if I could create an online business. I wanted to put all that I had learned from working with the game blog into a new venture. Thus, this site, Live Free and Blog was born.

Live Free and Blog will document the results of my attempts to build this online media empire. It will also be a sounding board for my ideas, notions, and opinions on all things to do with making money online.

Comment Policy

I have a fairly liberal comment policy, but with some restrictions.

• Try to keep on topic. This is a venue to discuss making money online, not about your great aunts canker sore. As interesting as that might be.
• No Spam. It won’t work anyway. Akismet is my white knight and will kill your spam dragon. Anything he misses, I’ll get.
• Strong Language. Please try and keep the language family friendly.
• Abusive Behaviour. Not tolerated. This is a friendly blog not a free for all fight club. Which we won’t mention. Shh.

Privacy Policy

As I mentioned above, I don’t like spam. Since I don’t like it, and I try to follow the golden rule - you know, the one about treating others how you’d like to be treated - I won’t spam either.

Any eMail addresses I collect will not be shared, sold, or otherwise transferred to a third party. However, if this blog is one day sold, the new owner will at least gain control of the RSS by eMail list. Otherwise, the eMail subscribers will not receive blog updates, and we can’t have that. All marketing to eMail will be Permission Marketing and will be conducted under the rules that the eMail address was obtained.

Live Free and Blog is also not responsible for the behaviour of any third party sites that you might get after leaving Live Free and Blog, either by following a link or any other means. Any sites I link to, are linked in good faith. I won’t intentionally link to any sites that contain malware, adware, or other evil devices. I’ll always try to link or recommend sites that I think have value for you, and not those ones with the naughty ladies.
